Hi again Members,

A few important dates coming up as we approach the last few weeks of the year:

Come-and-Try Day/Sunday Training: A slightly different training run this Sunday, as we co-host a come-and-try day with Port Stephens Power and Nelson Bay Marlins at Ferodale Sports Complex from 11am. We’ll work on skills and drills, play a scratch game of footy, and get more people involved in #FootyForFun. Please be aware this session will take place according to NSW Health guidelines for community sport.

Preso Day/AGM: Details are firming for the combined Preso Day and AGM at Ferodale on Sunday the 5th of December. Chop and Bones will kick off Presentation Day at 10am and take us through the awards and recognitions for 2021. This is followed by the AGM at 11 am, where a new committee will rise like a phoenix from the ashes of 2021. The Preso Day/AGM will be a COVID safe event, and if you plan on attending, please RSVP via the Events page on Team App. Attendance is free and there will be a free sausage sizzle, and drinks for a gold coin donation: https://hunteraflmasters.teamapp.com/clubs/16896/events/14049403?detail=v1&fbclid=IwAR1O0dAHW6_yN_4Y5mtsYMnvS-CXOTMKZxucsyvImEDbz39Wfga43wmWRA

Tom Boyd Webinar: An invitation has been extended to all Hunter AFL Masters to attend a live Q&A webinar with former AFL star Tom Boyd on Wednesday 24 November, from 7-8pm. Tom will discuss how he managed his mental health during his career with GWS and the Bulldogs, and clubs that attend the webinar will have the chance to win one of two Western Bulldogs jerseys, signed by Tom. Register for the event here: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/qa-with-tom-boyd-on-his-mental-health-journey-registration-206985438017

Merchandise: You may have seen on Facebook some of our highly paid models showcasing the latest in training shorts and Hornets representative jerseys, while custom ordered Intraclub jerseys are also currently being couriered to our President. Accordingly, for those who ordered, all custom Hornets and Intraclub jerseys will be available for handover at the AGM/Preso, while some other stock may also be available to purchase.

Balmain Xmas Cracker: The Balmain Xmas Cracker game is becoming something of a tradition, and is likely to be the final Masters Intraclub for 2021. It’s always a fun day, and they’ve added a women’s game this year, so get along if you’re up for a great day out. RSVP via their event on Facebook or risk missing out: https://www.facebook.com/events/3726716310764287

AFL 9s: Our AFL 9s teams continue to put on strong performances each week, so if you’re in the area and want to come down for a chat and a beer, it kicks off in Waratah Park from 5:30pm on Friday nights. Spectators and players must check-in on arrival and be double-vaxxed.

Can you believe it – there’s only 6 weeks of 2021 remaining!! We have a few great events still coming up however, so come along and make the most of what’s left for 2021!

All the best,
Hunter AFL Masters committee
