We are already well into February, and with the season fast approaching there is plenty happening around the club. So, grab your diary, strap yourself in, and load up with plenty of footy for fun in the latest members update:

Game Day & Canteen Payments
We are pleased to announce that we are pretty much set to go with using our new Point of Sale software, which will allow us to use EFTPOS for all game day fees, registrations, canteen & merchandise sales. We are hoping this will be set to go for our first game on 12th March, but please feel free to continue using TeamApp if you want to pay game fees, registrations, or buy merchandise before arriving at games.

Season Launch
Our season launch is being held at Lambton Park Hotel on 5th March, Starting at 3pm. There will be food platters, plenty of laughs, and an update on what to expect this season. Also, a number of us will be supporting LPH by staying around for dinner, so feel free to hang back for a bite to eat.

Newcastle Carnival
Speaking of what to expect this season, our Newcastle Carnival is confirmed for 19th March at Burwell Oval, Nelson Bay. More details will be released as soon as possible, but our Carnival is one of the feature Masters events in NSW each season with a huge day of footy for fun.

2022 Draft Fixture
The committee is excited to release a draft version of the 2022 fixture! Please see the attached PDF for the draw that has been submitted to council and is waiting to be approved. BK has been working hard with council and all but a few games are confirmed. As it is a draft draw, please be aware that game times and dates may change, and we will always endeavour to provide updated fixture info when we can. First intraclub game is set down for on 12 March at Nelson Bay and again on 26 March.

Game Day Strappers
AFL Masters footy is for the mature footballer, and our bodies need more management, so we have a fantastic opportunity for our members to gain sports taping skills through the club. The committee will pay for a couple of our members to attend a strapping course with our sponsor Bodyworx. The course is set down for 26 Feb with a likely 9 a.m. start (TBC) so please contact us ASAP if you are interested. If you also require taping prior to any of our games, please make sure you arrive earlier so we can get you up and running.

2022 Golf Day
Our Golf Day makes a return to the calendar again this year. The date will be released soon, but like our inaugural golf day in 2020, it will be held at the Anna Bay Par 3 course with a BBQ and presentation afterwards.

HCC Comp
The HCCAFL is currently organising the 2022 HCC Social Comp. It is possible that a 5th team, Gosford, may be joining this season, but the committee is seeking expressions of interest for the following positions:
Coach
Assistant Coach
Strapper
Trainer
Goal Umpires
Timekeeper
If you are interested in filling any of these positions, please let a committee member know.
