G’day members,

It’s been a long wait, but footy is back this weekend with the Rego Day and Intraclub at Nelson Bay! But as always, there’s plenty else going on around the club, so see what’s happening in the latest member’s update:

Season Launch: We had a fantastic turnout for the 2022 Season Launch at Lambton Park Hotel last Saturday. Plenty of food and drinks were consumed, and make sure you catch the Tall Man interviews on the Hunter Masters Facebook page. Thanks to everyone who turned up – it was great to see so many familiar faces again.

2022 Draw: Our first game is this Saturday at Dick Burwell Oval, Nelson Bay. Please be at the ground to help set up and register at 2pm. Please also note that due to the Newcastle Carnival being moved to 26/3, there will be no game on 19/3; instead we will have our usual Sunday training that weekend.

Newcastle Carnival: Our 2022 Newcastle Carnival has been moved to the 26th of March and will be held at Dick Burwell Oval, Nelson Bay. We have moved the game from the 19th to the 26th as many Sydney teams wanted to avoid a clash with the Swans vs GWS game. We should get good numbers from Sydney teams, so make sure you get along to the carnival and help us defend our Trophy and rack up a threepeat! please be at the ground from 8am to help set-up prior to the first game of the day, which will be Hunter Reds V Greens. We also need several playing and non-playing volunteers to help on the day and fill the following Positions:
- Scoreboard Attendant
- Time Keeper
- Match Day Photo’s
- Field & Goal Umpires
- BBQ Cook
- Canteen Duties (5 × 1Hr slots to fill)
Please let a committee member know if you or a family member/friend can help with any of these positions, even if it is just for an hour or two.

Game Day Strappers: Congrats to Julien Wells and BK for becoming our official Hunter Hornets qualified Strappers!! If you need any strapping done prior to taking the field, (and who doesn’t these days…) Wellsie & BK are your go-to’s.

2022 Golf Day: Mark down Sunday 3rd April at David Grahams Golf Complex in Anna Bay on your calendar, as our Golf Day makes a return this year. The round will be followed by a BBQ and presentations at the course. And a BIG thanks to Hopey for organising the day.

HCC Comp: The HCCAFL is currently in the process of organising the 2022 HCC Social Comp. In exciting news, it’s possible Gosford may be joining the comp, taking the number of teams up to 5. However, we need to fill the following positions to help field a side:
- Coach
- Assistant Coach
- Strapper
- Trainer
- Goal Umpires
- Timekeeper
If you are interest in filling any of these positions, please let a committee member know.
